MUTO
Immersive dining experience
MUTO was the first interactive restaurant in Mexico and Latin America. We combine pan-Asian food and a series of technological developments made by siete|media. Muto (in Spanish) comes from the verb to mutate and alludes to the constant transformation of the restaurant both in the gastronomic proposal and in the visual experience of the diners. To visit the restaurant is to be on the border between gastronomy and design, between oriental and technological, and between high-tech and minimalism. MUTO was the result of introducing interactive media to the most natural moment of our lives: the moment of eating. The tables had touch sensors that diners could manipulate to consult the menu and access the different actions of a restaurant, such as changing the tablecloths on the table or seeing directly on the table how the chef prepares the dishes ordered. The interactive tables, completely designed and produced by siete|media, also allow connecting smartphones to view YouTube videos in a group. In 2013 we closed the restaurant with the fond memory of having created an immersive experience that unites space, vision, and gastronomy.
